At the Regional Maxillofacial Unit, the disease specific survival for oral and oropharyngeal cancer treated by primary surgery with or without radiotherapy is comparable to the best units in the world. The graph below demonstrates the disease specific survival and shows that of the patients with oral and oro-pharyngeal cancer treated at Aintree.
Oral and Oropharyngeal survival by P stage
The P stage (pathological stage - the degree to which the cancer has spread) is related to survival with more extensive cancers often having poorer survival. The graph show survival for squamous celll carcinomas treated by the Regional Maxillofacial Unit. If you have any questions please get in touch.
