Investigations and Treatment

Patients with suspected head and neck cancer have routine investigations such as blood tests, xrays, scans (MRI, CT, PET-CT) and biopsy of the suspected area. Some patients will have an examination under anaesthetic (EUA) to more thoroughly examine parts of the mouth and throat. Patients with neck lumps will often have fine needle aspirates performed (FNA)

Visit the Surgery and Radiotherapy pages for more information on those treatment types.
